I’ve spent most of my time at early stage startups, with a focus from $1M to $25M ARR.
I specialize in B2B SaaS, with experience in health-tech, mar-tech, SMB’s, and B2B2C products.
As a leader, my job is to ask, “How can I better support my product managers so they can thrive?”
I value business and design, but tech and data science will always be the main way I view a product.
Hi there! I’m Andy Chu. I am a B2B SaaS product leader based in Los Angeles, California. I never planned on building a career in product management, but I am glad I am here now, doing what I love.
I am known for my servant-leadership management style, and as a technical product thinker with a data science focus.
I have been lucky to work and learn from the best. And I want to do my part to help foster a new generation of product managers.
I got my start in product management by accident. When I graduated from college, my plan was to go to medical school. I didn’t even know product management was even a career.
Medical school didn’t work out. But it taught me how to pivot, the first of many in my career.
My first job was a small startup I found on Craigslist. It was a small team in a smaller office, and an intense experience. I worked a client implementation role that quickly taught me the ins and outs of our software better than anyone else. I’d be the first one to notice bugs, the first to hear user feedback. At the beginning, I’d send my notes to the CEO. Over time, it became easier to straight to the developers. It was my first taste of product management, and I loved it.
Since then, I have built a long career in product management and have been lucky to have great mentors to answer my questions. I’ve tried to honor their kindness by paying it forward and coaching the next generation of product managers.
Whether as a product leader or a mentor to aspiring Associate PM’s, my passion is helping product managers reach their full potential. I have learned that I can deliver the most value by coaching PM’s to navigate through their challenges, become more confident, innovate great software, and deliver delightful solutions to customers and users throughout the world.
